Our Sacred History
As the Veda commands — "Swadhyaya Pravachanabhyam Na Pramaditavyam" — one must never neglect self-study and teaching. Following this sacred directive, and with the noble purpose that "Vedo'khilo Dharmamoolam" (the entire Veda is the root of Dharma), the Sree Vageeshwari Sri Satyanidhi Theertha Vidya Peetham was established.
The Vidya Peetham was inaugurated on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami (October 21, 2007) during the Sarvajit Samvatsara, in Nanded, Maharashtra, under the divine blessings and guidance of Sri Sri Sri 1008 Sri Satyatma Theertha Mahaswamiji of the revered Srimad Uttaradi Math.
The Peetham is dedicated not merely to studying the Vedas (Adhyayanam), but also to teaching them (Adhyapanam), thereby fulfilling both aspects of the Vedic command. This dual commitment to learning and propagation is the cornerstone of our mission for Dharma Rakshana (protection of Dharma).
What We Teach
Along with Veda Adhyayanam, the Vidya Peetham provides:
- Introductory Sanskrit Grammar (Prathamic Samskrita Vyakarana)
- Sri Ramayana, Mahabharata & Bhagavata — taught through interactive question-answer methodology
- This foundation serves as a gateway for advanced studies in Vyakarana, Nyaya, and Vedanta
Community Service
While teaching Vedic knowledge to students, the Peetham also guides dharmic householders in the city, inspiring them to perform their Nitya (daily) and Naimittika (occasional) karmas with devotion and regularity.
The Peetham has also provided financial assistance to three economically underprivileged students pursuing secular education. Today, these students have secured good employment and lead dharmic lives — a testimony to the Peetham's holistic approach to service.
Locations & Journey
The Vedapathashala has been operating for 15 years in Nanded and 2 years in Nizamabad (within the Srimad Uttaradi Math premises). Having served without a permanent home, the need for a dedicated building has become the driving force behind our current construction project.
